Time Management : One of the first steps in our time management is to breakdown the syllabus and to start the student with an hourly time schedule to help plan out assignments and avoid any “cramming”. The second component to this process is a monthly and weekly scheduling service we provide. With our help students set this up in their devices so there are not any assignments that “fall through” the cracks and to make sure they have a three touch system for assignment completion. Moreover, we will also send out reminder texts and schedule specific sessions for more heavily weighted assignments.

Test Preparation: Self-study guides are the primary source we base our methods on for test preparation. This can be done from class notes, videos, power points, and various other reading materials from the class are also incorporated into our study guides. We also offer memorization techniques for large informational pieces and how to organize and categorize these into more accessible pieces of information. During test time we help the student with the allocation of time and how to pace yourself and anxiety reducing techniques. Post-tests we will help review the material so they can better understand why they got something correct and why they got something incorrect.

Self-Advocacy: Becoming an advocate for yourself is, in our opinion, one of the most important factors for all of the skills listed above to be accomplished. The student becoming the teacher is one of the best learning skills for a person to know. Through self-advocacy and monitoring classes and grades is the first step in becoming an advocate. Secondly, pattern recognition through looking at the pattern of a grades tracked through our plan is the second step in our process. Thirdly, after realizing there are patterns of behavior that match grades is another component in becoming a self-motivated individual. When conferring with professors and other professionals we help phrase and formulate emails for the most effective communication for our clients.

Instruction on use of School Learning Platforms: Most of the students of today’s generation have online platforms such as Canvas, Blackboard, and Google Classroom. So it suffices to say that the students need help with learning where and how to access assignments, videos, and instructions for lessons. We offer services to learn how to work with most online platforms for an easy breezy start for classes.

Plan Tasks: Assignment breakdown and understanding what a prompt is asking is the first step in our process. Identifying the end of a task and the completion of a “finished goal” and the ability to manage and track progress is the second component of our services. Also understanding how to properly manage a task and any obstacles that could deter from the task and then discussing with one of our coaches to improve behavior. We do this by helping create a positive internal dialogue which strengthens mental acuity and resilience to change.

Exam Preparation: Preparing for tests and quizzes by creating a study guide. Creating and implementation techniques for moving information from short-term memory to long-term. Analyzing test performance and how to improve test taking strategies. Lastly creating a space for exams to be prepared for to be accurately equipped for taking the test.
